I am not the Body. I am the Eternal Truth.

  • Turd: You piece of shit, don't touch me.
  • Shuka: Do you know who I am?
  • Turd: I'm afraid I don't. Before I started hanging out with these wretched human beings, I was pizza; I was butter; I was cheese. But as a result of passing through a body like yours, this is what has happened to me.
  • Shuka had now completely lost his conceit.
  • Shuka: What is there about this body to be proud of?

“ ‘Hey, you pot of shit, why do you have so much pride? Why are you so egotistical about this body?’ That is how my Baba used to speak. OF course, I use a more polite term: I call this body a factory of shit.

exceprt “I Have Become Alive” by Swami Muktananda. The great saint is explaining how his Guru (Baba) used to talk to people. There are 9 orifices in our body, all of them produce waste of some sort. All this is to rid yourself of the ego. Anytime you have the “I” ownership of your body, remember this quote and visual.

Thanks Swami Muktananda!

Grave Darkness before Light

The process of personal growth isn’t always easy. We must face our own ugliness and the ugliness that lies within those in our lives. We often must become painfully aware of the unworkability of a pattern before we’re willing to give it up. It often seems, in fact, that our lives get worse rather than better when we begin to work deeply on ourselves and let go of the unhealthy attachments in our lives but this isn’t so.

The pain is really just the fear, weakness, blindness and ignorance we’ve been clinging to leaving the body and mind.

And once it’s gone, we are strong.

Simply AMAZING. Gurudev had the same message for us last week.
