Brockport
This is my third day in Brockport. Tomorrow I am done with the program. But I don’t get to come back to NYC until Thursday morning. Le sigh. It’s definitely an interesting experience coming back to Western New York. The kindest people live up here…they are sweet and enthusiastic. They may not have the most vegan options for food, but their hearts are definitely in the right...

Om: the meaning
OM/AUM: The three parts of Om (A-U-M) encompass the three states of waking, dreaming, deep sleep, the three levels of gross, subtle, causal, and the three levels of conscious, unconscious, subconscious, as well as the three universal processes of coming, being, and going. Absolute silence beyond the three levels is the silence after AUM. It also refers to Tripura, the one who live in the...

Am I Really Alive?
This was the question a disciple asked a teacher. Am I really alive? He was unable to find the difference between his life and that of a cabbage when this question was asked. Are our lives no different than some of the more industrious animals out there? Take ants or even squirrels and birds for example. Eat, gather, build, and die. If that is all that we do, then what is the difference between...

“But chance, karma and kismet are all ingredients in “$9.99,”
– Lovely sentence from today’s NYTimes shows how Indian words are creeping into the American standard. Sure they may be misused and adapted for a strictly American use, but it’s funny how the evolution of language happens. Article by John Anderson

Humans v. Robots - Hail the Tornado Tyrant
Things get tricky when a robot creates a son for himself. All the upgrades plus human emotions. This incarnation of the Batman cartoons continues to drive cheesy dialogue with really serious topics. The takeaway: how without understanding pure love + awareness and carry through of your duty - which the father robot displays - is more important than learning any other emotion.
