Leave yourself a surprise
Remember those times when you left yourself $20 in the winter coat before putting it in the suitcase for the summer? Then do you remember how excited you were to get that same $20 bill when it was winter again?
What I’ve realized from blogging is that if I fill the blog with useful content that uplifts everyone that reads it, I benefit the most. Because on occassion I like to peruse the...

Best Season Finale Ever - Entourage Season 5
All season long we watched and waited to see where Vincent Chase’s career would turn. And finally after all that waiting we were given a treat when we found out what happens. A season finale that could essentially have been a series finale that would have left fans happy.

Slumdog Millionaire (Film Review)
A gritty, silly, violent, generic and stereotype driven film with average performances and an incredible soundtrack is receiving a lot of acclaim.
There are no surprises in Slumdog Millionaire; director Danny Boyle’s latest film that takes place entirely in India with a cast of all Indian actors. It goes where you expect it to go from the first frame, which asks the audience in game-show...

Ugliest city in America
Cincinnatti has to be the ugliest city in North America. Its streets are barren, its buildings are like throwaway boxes with glass holes and the city just gives off an air of complete and utter worthlessness.
The only other city to drive such strong sentiments within me is Buffalo, NY. Equally ugly and pointless, were it not for Mighty Taco and my friend Tracie who lives there, I’d never...

The meaning of life
What did you do today?
What did you eat?
Who did you speak with?
Did you hurt anyone’s feelings?
What took up most of your mind’s space today?
Who did you spend your day with?
Why did you do what you did today?
Does your life have a goal?
Why is it that you have that goal?
Why don’t you have a goal?
Did your days activities meet your goals?
Why do you think...

Bye…Sadhana calling
– The above was said to me by a Yogi in training. Sadhana is an Indian proper name for a female and its definition is also YOGA. So when a person who has taken a vow of celibacy for life says “Sadhana calling” he’s not referring to his wife but his devotional Yoga practice.

We're the bad guy
Before judging the bad guy in the next film you watch think real hard about what characteristics he or she represents. You might find that there still are demons within you that make you just as bad—if not worse—than the bad guy.
That is not to say that you will not overcome them but if you are aware of the issues then you will be able to improve upon them.

When recent music becomes classic
I sit here sipping on tea and working on my next idea. I sit here and Wilco’s “Company in my back” comes on. I’m sent back to 2002 - a time when most of my time was spent at the music station WGSU - it’s a nice feeling.
Winter, spring, fall and summer become one. I don’t remember any of the conversations nor the people I met. It’s all a blur as to who was...
